Noisy Games Machine Feature (Page 1 of 6)
Dublin To Holyhead
Some time ago I was sat on an Irish ferry taking the 9pm sailing from Dublin to Holyhead. This was the last sailing of the day, and the ferry was full of tourists who’d made their holiday last 4 hours longer by not getting the 5pm sailing. My seat was perfect, next to the restaurant, not too far from the bar and very comfortable. The only down side was that it was near the children’s play area. This was OK, until the children who were using it started getting tired, started crying and started screaming, the noise was driving me crazy.
I tried to read a book, but the noise was still there, I tried to fall asleep, but the noise was still there - in the end I got out my MP3 player and listened to an old Nickelback album. The high pitched whining was gone, and was replaced with guitar riffs, drums and vocals sung with a rough North American accent.
Why am I writing about Quite Games PC’s and telling you about a ferry trip? I'm coming to that…. I realised I’d simply replaced one noise with another, which is exactly how my games PC is set up.
